General information
- How do you know it works?
- Our customers regularly give us positive feedback about the response to their adverts (See our testimonials). Also, we have a consistent customer renewal rate of 95-97% which must prove it works for the majority of our advertisers.
- What amount of return will I receive?
- This depends on the type of business. However, generally the longer you stay in the stronger the awareness and the better the return.
- Why should I give my business to you rather than one of your competitors?
- We believe in supporting you and your business. Our aim is to make it easier for our readers to support their local trades and businesses. We issue reader feedback cards, the content of which is then entered on our website, twitter and facebook pages in order to maximise on your response from our advertising campaigns.
- How often do the books go out to the public?
- We print 10 editions a year. 8 are monthly then we combine July & August and December & January. This is because the majority of our customers tell us that these are usually their quietest two periods in the year so we combine them and only charge our customers for 10 editions instead of 12.
- What time of the month do they get delivered out?
- Usually the last weekend of the month so they are with the public by the 1st of the edition month. The July/August and December/January editions go out the first weekend of the edition month.
- How do you make sure the combined books are used for the whole two months?
- We have specific customer promotions, special offers and competitions that our readers can only use or enter during the second month of the combined editions.
- Can I just try it for one edition to see if it works?
- You can. However, the longer you advertise the better the response which is why we normally sell the advertising in a minimum of 3 month/edition blocks.
- If I book for 3 editions can I do a different area for each one.
- It is better to do the 3 editions in one publication so that it strengthens the awareness in that area.
- Can I pay monthly?
- Yes you can. Also, if you book for a year the charge for the 10 editions will be split down over 12 monthly payments so it becomes even more cost effective.
- Can I have some editorial space with you?
- Yes you can. However, experience tells us that your own customer testimonials work much better than just a lot of words about you or your business.

Page layouts
- Will a full page advert work better for me than one of the smaller ones?
- Not necessarily. Sometimes the little black and white eighth page adverts work better than the largest ones. However, a lot depends on the business as to how much space you will need.
Artwork
- Do I have to supply my own artwork?
- No. We have a professional graphic designer who can design you an eye-catching, effective advert.
- If I supply my own artwork which format should it be in?
- We accept most formats (jpeg, tif, eps, png, bmp, pdf, publisher). However, PDF or JPEG is preferred.
